This guy in this firehouse used to catch ghosts? And these college students are going to help? gasp AND THERE'S A GIRL! LIKE ME! Girls can be Ghostbusters! My first reactions, I can still remember, because it was such a huge moment for me. It seemed like it was ''bad'' to watch it, like when I got yelled at for watching horror movies, and it added this kind of real life suspense for me. I had never seen such an adult sort of cartoon before. I was intrigued by the art and the feel of the show. It was dark, it was creepy, it scared me! But it was so cool. I never intended to watch it, it was just on after Static Shock and before the Men in Black cartoon and I happened to catch the beginning bars of the theme song before I got up to nab some cereal. I keep hearing from a lot of the older crowd that they disliked Extreme Ghostbusters for varying reasons, all of which I can mostly understand, but that's the thing- I've never heard from anyone like me, who was watching the show and never had any prior background on anything, and genuinely enjoyed the show for what it was.įor me, I was captivated by the show's opening. ![]() My introduction to the Ghostbusters franchise was the Extreme Ghostbusters cartoon, which aired on WB Kids on Saturday morning for me. I missed the movies, I missed the Real Ghostbusters cartoon.
